Powerful Athabasca Falls

Powerful Athabasca Falls-is only 75 ft. high but the strong rushing Athabasca River causes the falls to cascade dramatically through the canyon below. The town of Jasper is 19 miles to the south.

Medicine Lake Morning

Medicine Lake known locally as the "disappearing lake" . The Maligne River feeds the lake and in summer, waters from nearby melting glaciers fill the lake. In fall and winter, when the snowmelt stops, the lake begins to disappear, draining out through sinkholes at the lake bottom. The water flows through an underground cave system, before surfacing 10 miles downstream in Maligne Canyon.
